This full-day Introduction to Horsemanship course provides a practical and educational introduction to horses, horsemanship, and the heritage of mounted archery.

Participants will learn essential horse care, grooming, stable etiquette, safe handling, leading horses, and an understanding of horse behaviour. The course also introduces horse anatomy, breeds, tack including saddles and bridles, and key welfare and safety principles.

Throughout the day, participants will gain insight into the historical traditions of horses in culture, horseback archery, and the connection between horse and rider.

The course also includes a short supervised riding opportunity, a ground archery “have-a-go” session, and demonstrations of riding and mounted archery.

A certificate of completion is awarded at the end of the course.
